You’ll also explore the cultural and spiritual significance of pa‘akai (sea salt) in Hawaiian life. More than a seasoning, salt was—and remains—an essential element in purification rituals, food preservation, and healing practices. Learn about how salt is sustainably harvested from the waters off Moloka‘i and why it is revered as a sacred and vital resource. As part of this hands-on workshop, you will create your own personalized bath salt blend using Hawaiian sea salt and aromatic island botanicals. Each ingredient has been carefully selected to reflect the therapeutic qualities of the Hawaiian environment. Your custom blend will serve as both a physical reminder of your experience and a tool to carry forward the calming and restorative practices of the islands.
